Description
When I play back an H.264 video on my external displays, I can hear pops and crackles in the audio. This only happens in QuickLook when using other apps like VLC, Media Player, or Movies & TV, the issue does not occur. I have two monitors and is the same history.
Steps to reproduce:
-
Set the external display as the audio output device.
-
Play back the video in QuickLook.
OS Version: Windows 11 25H2
QuickLook Version: 4.2.2 (installed from the .exe on GitHub)
Here’s a screenshot of the video audio metadata:

Research direction
Start by reproducing H.264 playback in QuickLook 4.2.2 on Windows 11 with an external display selected as the audio output, then compare the same video in VLC, Media Player, or Movies & TV. Done means the pops and crackles no longer occur during QuickLook playback on the reported external-display setup.
