Description
Feature Request
Microsoft recently published an open dataset of CONUS that has been used to solve AC OPF studies at regional levels. Would be cool to ingest this. It uses OSM for their topology. A benefit of this instead of raw OSM is that it is AC OPF ready.
Much of their data is the same sources as us (ie. EIA origins). They don't tie into PUDL though, so Im not sure how much of their own data cleaning they have done.

Research direction
Start by reading the linked Microsoft dataset paper and then locate the repository's existing data-ingestion entry points. Determine how the CONUS OSM-based dataset would fit the current sources and cleaning flow; done means the dataset is ingested and usable for AC OPF studies.
