Description

Feature Request

Right now, existing residential end-use stock comes from the EIA residential energy consumption surveys. The Census collects this information as well, however, it will provide at a finer resolution (up to county level, rather than state). May be good to include this as well!

Suggested Solution

Link to Table "DP04 | Selected Housing Characteristics" from the US Census

Research direction

Start by reviewing how existing residential end-use stock is loaded from the EIA residential energy consumption surveys, then inspect the Census DP04 Selected Housing Characteristics table linked in the issue. Determine how its finer-resolution housing data should be incorporated, including county-level availability. Done means Census-derived residential heating stock is available alongside or in place of the current EIA source.
