Research direction

Start from the issue description, which proposes global search and navigation to parameter locations in the UI, plus AI-assisted navigation. Before implementation, define the search scope, how users are taken to matching settings, and acceptance criteria for both checklist items; the issue names no files, tests, or entry points.
