Description

Description

I am currently attempting to capture network traffic on an Android emulator device. It had been working perfectly fine since a month ago, but I haven't been able to get it to work for the past few weeks.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Open Proxyman (ver. 5.10.0) on Macbook M3 Pro, macOS Sonoma 14.7.1.
  2. Boot up Android emulator (Pixel 4 XL -- sdk_gphone64_arm64) running on Android version VanillaIceCream.
  3. On Proxyman, follow the outlined steps in section 2.1 to setup Android Emulator with Proxyman to capture HTTP/HTTPS Request/Response by using the Automatic Script.
  4. Open any app on Android device to attempt to capture network traffic.

Current Behavior

All of the apps I try to use (including default apps like Google Chrome, Youtube etc.) don't work because the device is failing to connect to internet. All of the requests coming through are greyed out and showing "SSL Handshake Failed" message:

I feel this is not a Wifi issue because when I click "Revert Override", my device is able to properly use apps.

Expected Behavior

Requests should be successful and should show the proper HTTP/HTTPS responses.

Environment

  • App version: Proxyman 5.10.0
  • macOS version: macOS Sonoma 14.7.1
  • MacBook Model: MacBook M3 Pro
  • Android emulator device: Pixel 4 XL -- sdk_gphone64_arm64
  • Android emulator version: VanillaIceCream

Research direction

No source file, test, or entry point is identified. Start by reproducing the failure using Proxyman 5.10.0, macOS Sonoma 14.7.1, and the Android emulator's Automatic Script setup described in the issue. Done means Android apps can connect normally through the proxy and requests show successful HTTP/HTTPS responses instead of "SSL Handshake Failed".
