Description
Language
Ballerina is an open-source programming language for the cloud that makes it easier to use, combine, and create network services.
A simple REST API can be written in Ballerina as follows.
import ballerina/http;
listener http:Listener httpListener = new (8080);
service / on httpListener {
resource function get greeting() returns string {
return "Hello, World!";
}
resource function get greeting/[string name]() returns string {
return "Hello " + name;
}
}

Research direction
Start by reviewing Prism's existing language-support entry points and the linked Ballerina website, repository, and language specification to understand the syntax that needs highlighting. Done means Ballerina is supported consistently with the project's existing language definitions and its highlighting behavior is covered by the relevant tests.
