Description
Feature request
Is there a way to default new workspaces to have a split tab with chat in one and terminal in the other?
At the very least, it would be nice to have keyboard shortcuts for splitting the screen.
Ideas
- Allow configuring a default layout for new workspaces (e.g. chat + terminal side-by-side)
- Add keyboard shortcuts for splitting/unsplitting the workspace view

Research direction
No files, tests, or entry points are named. Start by locating the workspace layout and split/unsplit view entry points, then determine how new workspace defaults and keyboard shortcuts are configured. Done means a configurable chat-and-terminal layout can be applied to new workspaces and splitting or unsplitting works through documented shortcuts.
