Description

Adding a couple of hundred layers causes the amount of memory utilised to skyrocket - this is obviously very annoying if you have lots of relationship types that you wish to model.

Research direction

Start by reproducing the memory increase with a graph containing a couple of hundred layers, then profile where memory is allocated as layers are added. Trace the layer representation and identify a measurable reduction in memory usage; done means the reproduction no longer causes an uncontrolled memory increase and the behavior is covered by a regression check.
