Description

See http://taxsim.nber.org/out2psl/1157

AGI does not match. TA includes all of pension income in AGI. I think PE is allowing some pension exclusion. I am inclined to think PE may be correct, as there is no indication I can find that there is a minimum age for the pension exclusion.

Research direction

Start with the TAXSIM comparison at http://taxsim.nber.org/out2psl/1157 and trace how the emulator handles pension income and pension exclusion for this Arkansas 2023 case. Compare the AGI calculation with the reference output and verify which treatment is supported by the applicable tax rules; done means the emulator agrees with the expected AGI.
