Description

See http://taxsim.nber.org/out2psl/1141

Total credits differs by $250. I think PE is awarding the $250 rebate that is predicated on the 2021 return, so not valid in 2022. https://portal.ct.gov/-/media/drs/publications/tssb/2022/tssb-2022-5.pdf

Research direction

Reproduce the discrepancy using the TAXSIM result at http://taxsim.nber.org/out2psl/1141, then read the linked Connecticut 2022 bulletin. Trace the 2022 joint-return credit calculation and check whether the $250 rebate is incorrectly carried over from the 2021 return. Done means the calculated total credits match the reference result without applying that invalid rebate.
