Description

See http://taxsim.nber.org/out2psl/1112

PE and TA agree on taxable income but PE has taxbc of 9406 while TA has 11336.

PE shows 2500 in credits (that would be the 2021 rebate), but siitax and taxbc are the same. State rebate is shown as 1929, but I don't see it applied.

Research direction

Start with the TAXSIM output at http://taxsim.nber.org/out2psl/1112 and compare the PE and TA results for taxable income, taxbc, siitax, and the federal and state rebates. Trace the corresponding Python tax-calculation paths to determine why the totals differ. Done means the discrepancy is explained and the rebate and taxbc values agree with the expected result.
