Description

The game runs well and functions properly if jailbreak detection bypass is enabled (otherwise it won't start), but PlayTools has a bad memory leak in this game (~2.5gb per minute) requiring you to restart the game often to avoid system crashes.

Image

Removing PlayTools it causes the game to run fine and only use the required memory, but then you have to deal with an unusable resolution.
Additionally, with PlayTools enabled loading screens take minutes as opposed to just seconds without it.

This occurs on MacOS 15.5 and 26.0, and in PlayCover 3.1.0 as well as all recent Nightlies.

Research direction

Start by reproducing Persona 5: The Phantom X with PlayTools enabled and jailbreak detection bypass enabled on the reported macOS versions, comparing memory growth and loading times with PlayTools removed. Investigate the PlayTools integration responsible for dynamic resolution or keymapping, then verify that memory remains stable and loading returns to normal without breaking the required resolution.
