Description

DFT simulations are important for dense plasma physics (neutron stars, inertial confinement fusion, etc.). It would be of pedagogical value to add a simple DFT simulation code to PlasmaPy along with an IPython example notebook.

A little bit of info on DFT simulations for plasmas.

Research direction

No repository file, test, or entry point is named; begin by reviewing the PlasmaPy package structure and the linked DFT overview. Define the simulation scope and the IPython example's expected outputs before implementing, then verify that both the code and notebook demonstrate a simple DFT simulation.
