- Folklore source: https://github.com/helena-bioinformatics/folklore-mcp
- Official MCP Registry namespace: https://registry.modelcontextprotocol.io/v0/servers?search=io.github.helena-bioinformatics
- Canonical public endpoints:

All four endpoints are public, read-only Streamable HTTP MCP servers. Noodle and Folklore require no account or API key and accept only public, non-sensitive research inputs.

**Is lack of support preventing you from moving forward, or do you have a workaround?**

We can call the endpoints through generic HTTP steps, but that removes app-level discovery, typed reusable actions, and the scientific safety guidance that users need. A first-class Pipedream app would let developers discover Helena by task (biomedical literature discovery, citation-graph traversal, and public germline variant interpretation) without already knowing the Noodle or Folklore product names.

**Are there specific actions or triggers you'd like to see for this app? Please let us know here or use the Action and Trigger issue templates to open requests for each!**

Initial read-only actions:
1. Search Biomedical Literature (Noodle)
2. Get Publication Details by PMID / DOI / PMCID (Noodle)
3. Get Citation or Semantic Neighborhood (Noodle)
4. Get Corpus Coverage and Freshness Summary (Noodle)
5. Interpret a Supported Public GRCh38 Germline Variant (Folklore)
6. Review Structured ACMG/AMP Evidence and Provenance (Folklore)
7. Retrieve Variant-Linked Literature (Folklore)
8. Ask Helena for public platform and service guidance (Ask Helena)

No write actions, patient data, clinical records, credentials, or private case context should be accepted. Variant outputs require qualified professional review and are not diagnoses or treatment recommendations.

Research direction

Start with the linked Noodle MCP guide, Folklore source, public Postman documentation, and the four canonical endpoints to understand the available request and response shapes. Then inspect existing Pipedream app integrations for the expected action structure. Done means a first-class Helena app covering the listed read-only actions, with no private or sensitive inputs and clear variant-safety guidance.
