Description

Checks
  • I have read the FAQ section, searched the open issues, and still think this is a new bug.
Describe the bug you encountered:

When you choose a password from the database, the keyboard switches so that you can enter the username and password using the single line keyboard interface. When you are finished doing this, the keyboard switches to the full keyboard interface, and there is a notification that you could swipe away when you don't need the password or the keyboard anymore.

This no longer works. The keyboard does not go away. It's almost like it becomes your default keyboard. Furthermore, there is no interface within the keyboard to swap keyboards. For example, when using gboard, there is a button on the keyboard that allows you to switch to a different keyboard.

The only way to get my gboard back, is to open the gboard app, allow it to detect that it is no longer the default keyboard, and give me the option to change my input method.

I've disabled the ability to enter passwords with the keyboard for now, and will only use the clipboard, in order to avoid having my keyboard switched by your app.

Describe what you expected to happen:

When you swipe away the notification that the keyboard is available, the keyboard switches back to your default keyboard like it used to

Research direction

Start by reproducing the keyboard-switching flow on Android 14 with Keepass2Android 1.10-pre, including dismissing the keyboard-available notification. Trace the password-entry keyboard and notification behavior; done means the default keyboard, such as Gboard, is restored and remains manually selectable after the flow ends.
