What platform are you running Path of Building on?

Linux - Wine

What is the behaviour in-game?

During a number of times in Path of Exile's history it has been possible to create "bugged" abyss socket bases: bases that have abyssal sockets, but no associated "Has X Abyssal Sockets" text.

During Necropolis, Crucible, and Mercenaries league it was possible to create bugged items, and I wouldn't be surprised if it would happen again in the future given how these sockets appear to be coded.

Here is a copied example item with a bugged Abyss socket from Mercenaries:

Item Class: Body Armours
Rarity: Rare
Loath Shell
Crusader Chainmail
--------
Armour: 492 (augmented)
Energy Shield: 103 (augmented)
Memory Strands: 27
--------
Requirements:
Level: 66
Str: 64
Int: 64
--------
Sockets: B R A
--------
Item Level: 85
--------
99% increased Armour and Energy Shield
+104 to maximum Life
Regenerate 137.1 Life per second
14% increased Stun and Block Recovery

and another, from Necropolis:

Item Class: Helmets
Rarity: Unique
Wraithlord
Bone Circlet
--------
Energy Shield: 86 (augmented)
--------
Requirements:
Level: 59
Int: 73
--------
Sockets: A A A A
--------
Item Level: 73
--------
+2 to Level of Socketed Minion Gems
120% increased Energy Shield
Minions Regenerate 1% of Life per second
+1000 to Spectre maximum Life
--------
Countless men proclaimed themselves the masters of death,
and each one succumbed to it.
--------

They all have one thing in common, the Sockets list the A socket, but they have no associated Has X Abyssal Sockets text. It appears that PoB is dependent on seeing the Has X Abyssal Sockets text rather than looking at the actual sockets of the item.

Pasting one of the above items in PoB will show the item as having no Abyssal sockets (note the A A A A sockets):

How to reproduce the issue

Copy one of the items above, paste it into PoB and equip it. It will not show any Abyssal Sockets that can be filled with jewels.

Importing a character with a bugged abyss item equipped, with a jewel in the socket, will not equip the jewel in any socket.

Research direction

Start by reproducing the issue by pasting either provided item example into Path of Building and equipping it, then trace the item import and socket handling paths. Done means bugged items with A sockets display usable Abyssal sockets and imported jewels are assigned to them.
