What is the value from the calculation in-game?

When Blood Sacrament is reserving >50% of your life, it actually takes two casts per usage instead of just one. This means, in order to fully utilise the skill's cooldown, you need to have at least 2x the cooldown rate in cast rate.

e.g: With a cooldown rate of 3.8 and a cast rate of 6.45, the skill will stay at 1-2 charges whilst spamming. With a cooldown rate of 3.8 and a cast rate of 8.10, the skill will hit 0 charges.

What is the value from the calculation in Path of Building?

PoB assumes it takes only 1 cast per usage of the spell, so as long as your cast rate is higher than the cooldown rate. In the above example, scaling cast speed past 6.45 doesn't give me any extra dps in PoB, despite getting faster in game.

How to reproduce the issue
  1. Select Blood Sacrament as the main skill
  2. Have a life reservation of >50%
  3. Get a lot of CDR
  4. Get enough cast speed to be between 1 and 2x the cooldown rate
  5. Scale cast speed, dps won't increase
  6. Getting more CDR increases dps, even if casts can't accomodate it
