Research direction

The issue names no files, tests, or entry points. Start by locating the sonication control and transducer sensor interfaces, then clarify the sensor ranges and warning/error behavior before implementing intermittent monitoring. Done means out-of-range sensor status is handled according to the agreed interruption policy and covered by tests.
