Description

When having compiled the ovpncli with mingw following the guidelines (https://github.com/OpenVPN/openvpn3?tab=readme-ov-file#building-with-mingw), I get the following issue when trying to run it on Windows as admin:

Changing the build target to ovpncliagent and running it as admin results in the same issue.

Can anybody please provide me with some guideline how to fix this?

Research direction

Start with the README's “Building with Mingw” guidelines and reproduce the failure on Windows using the ovpncli and ovpncliagent targets. Inspect the error shown in the attached image and compare both targets; done means the built executable runs successfully as administrator or the failure is documented with a concrete fix.
