Description

Describe the bug
On windows, the software is installed with a DisplayName like OpenVPN 2.6.16-I001 amd64. This makes reports in inventory programs like Lanseeper difficult because each version shows up as a separate product.

Version information (please complete the following information):

  • OS: Windows
  • OpenVPN version: 2.6.16-I001

Research direction

Start by locating the Windows installer code that sets the software's DisplayName, then reproduce the current value OpenVPN 2.6.16-I001 amd64. Update the behavior so reports identify OpenVPN without the version, and verify the installed display name on Windows.
