Description
This could be a new bug, switching the joystick to LS is supposedly causing the LEDs to no longer fire for the joystick. Switching back to DP then fixes the issue?
Will need to verify locally.

Research direction
Start by reproducing the issue locally with the joystick set to LS, then switch to DP and compare the LED behavior. Trace the joystick-mode and LED handling paths to identify the difference; done means the joystick LEDs fire correctly in both LS and DP modes.
