Description

The download page https://openrefine.org/download currently points to 3.10.0 which is an unnotarized version for Macs (our biggest platform). It should point to 3.10.1.

The Github download numbers are interesting. They probably say something about the discovery path that people follow, but I'm not sure what.

Platform 3.10.1 3.10.0
Mac 65,928 13,685
Windows zip w/JRE 1,102 39,370
Windows installer 3,549 10,227
Linux 845 3,160

p.s. While investigating the above, I also noticed that https://openrefine.org/versions.json which drives our upgrade notifications also is still pointing to 3.10.0, so the 66K Mac downloads are all organic (and probably many of them first downloaded 3.10.0).

I hope to release 3.10.2 shortly, so perhaps we can defer work on this until that happens and just do all the updates at once.

pps I wonder which kit we highlight for Windows users. I'm surprised that the installer isn't higher than the zip file.

Research direction

Start with the source for the download page and versions.json, which currently reference release 3.10.0. Update both to the intended latest release once 3.10.2 is available, then verify that the download links and upgrade-notification data point to the correct version.
