Description

OpenRefine needs a Generic JDBC Connector for binding to any JDBC Driver. This isn't the case right now and the closed status of the original issue relating to this matter obscures the current state of affairs.

I am reopening this as a new feature request.

Naturally, opening this case doesn't mean that I won't consider engaging the services of @OpenLinkSoftware regarding issue resolution contribution.

We already made a new OpenRefine fork.

Research direction

Start by reviewing the closed issue 1277 and the OpenRefine fork mentioned in this report, then determine the current connector integration point for JDBC drivers. Done means OpenRefine supports binding to arbitrary JDBC drivers, with the required scope and validation agreed.
