Describe the issue

When launching the game or exiting a scenario, the game freezes for 5 seconds with the title music playing before finally going to the title screen like normal. The original RCT2 (CD version run in Wine) loads the title screen instantly in a fraction of a second.

Steps to reproduce
  1. Launch OpenRCT2
  2. Wait 5 seconds with the music playing before the title screen finally appears.

Alternatively:

  1. Launch OpenRCT2
  2. Load a saved game.
  3. Quit to menu.
  4. Wait 5 seconds with the music playing before the title screen finally appears.

Research direction

Reproduce the delay on Void Linux x86-64 with OpenRCT2 v0.4.6, following both the launch and quit-to-menu paths described in the issue. Measure when the title music starts and when the title screen appears; done means those paths no longer freeze for roughly five seconds before showing the title screen.
