Description

OS: Kubuntu Linux 20.04
Version: ??? Version info still not showing up on Linux title screen -- updated as of this post
Commit/Build: ???

Before, clicking on an ordinary piece of a ride's track would change the ride window's viewport to be an overview of the ride. Now though, clicking on an ordinary track piece doesn't change the viewport at all.

Maybe this is related to #13118 / #13123 ?

It means there's no way to change the ride's viewport back to overall view other than to use the drop-down menu.
Clicking other parts of the ride (entrance, exit, vehicle) still changes the viewport to target those parts, but clicking an ordinary track piece no longer centers the viewport on an overall view.

  • Reproducible in RCT2 (vanilla)?
  • Specific to multiplayer?

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Build a tracked ride
  2. Open the ride's window
  3. Change the viewport to anything other than the overall view
  4. Click on any ordinary track piece of the ride -- the viewport's target doesn't change

Research direction

Start by reproducing the four steps in the issue on Kubuntu Linux 20.04, then compare how clicking an ordinary track piece is handled with clicks on the entrance, exit, and vehicle. Check the related issues #13118 and #13123 for context. Done means selecting an ordinary track piece returns the ride viewport to its overall view.
