Options:

Research direction
Start by reviewing the referenced discussion in issue #620 and comparing the two proposed approaches: an environment variable checked by a skipif fixture or a custom plugin. No files or tests are named in this issue. Done means internet-dependent tests are skipped by default while providing a clear opt-in mechanism to run them.
