Description

Is it possible for this adaptor, or how in JavaScript to add that behaviour along with the adaptor-specific functions?

Research direction

The issue names the PostgreSQL adaptor and JavaScript adaptor-specific functions but no files, tests, or entry point. Start by locating the PostgreSQL adaptor and its connection setup, then determine how SSH tunneling could be represented; done means a documented and tested way to connect through an intermediary instance.
