Description
Goal
Qualify the LUMI training backend for function-calling SFT with Qwen3.5-9B.
Scope
- Verify rendering, tokenization, assistant-target selection, and loss masking.
- Verify distributed loss normalization and parameter updates.
- Verify checkpoint save, resume, export, and downstream loading.
- Complete a bounded end-to-end run on the actual 9B path.
