Description

Platform

Windows 11 and Linux

Browser

Firefox and Opera

Current Behavior

When I put my 5 second clip of Minecraft on the timeline, and hit the play button, it lags for like a second and then my browser immediately crashes. I literally have 32gb of ram and a fast computer, so I have no idea why it is happening. I've heard others complain about this too!

Expected Behavior

When I click play, the video playback should start playing smoothly, no lag, no crashing my browser...

Recurrence Probability

Always

Steps To Reproduce

Open a new project
Add some footage
Put it on the time line
Press the play button, and your browser will likely crash

Research direction

Start by reproducing the crash in a new project with footage on the timeline, then trace the playback path from the timeline play button. Use the reported Windows 11 and Linux cases with Firefox and Opera to narrow the failure. Done means the five-second Minecraft clip starts smoothly without lag or browser crashes.
