Description

Problem

Most of the time, when I add something to the timeline, I want to modify its properties immediately (e.g. Text Layers). It's currently confusing that selection does not change, and I have to spend time looking through the Timeline to find the layer I just added

Solution

Select layers when adding them to the timeline. Normal layer selection behavior.

Research direction

Start by locating the timeline code that handles adding a layer and the existing normal layer-selection behavior. Trace how the newly added layer is represented and selected. Done means adding a layer automatically selects it so its properties can be edited immediately, without changing normal selection behavior.
