Description

Hey team! Amazing work with OSSing VoxCPM. I have been using for about 8 months now - starting with version 1.5 and now using v2.

Are there any plans to add support for more regional languages soon? Being based in India, we have prominent regional languages like Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and others that are already supported in Omni-Voice.

I’m wondering if we might see similar support coming to VoxCPM. Broad language support would massively help with distribution and adoption. While a lot of users are happy with English, Hindi, and the other languages currently supported, it would be incredible if the roadmap included a larger language set - perhaps not 600 like Omni-Voice, but closer to what Fish Audio supports.

I don't think there is any other open-source model besides VoxCPM that offers such high-quality voice cloning, which is why I'd love to see it expanded to even more languages!

Research direction

No file, test, or entry point is named. Start by reviewing VoxCPM’s current language support and discussing feasibility and scope with maintainers, using the requested Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada support and the comparisons with Omni-Voice and Fish Audio as requirements; done means an agreed implementation plan or roadmap decision.
