Description
Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
For some weird reason, the authors have decided that when the default value of a property is null, to set defaultValue to the string "null" rather than the value null. It is hence not possible to verify whether a property has a null value or not, and the check {{{#defaultValue}}} always succeeds -- because "null" is a valid string.
In order not to break existing templates by changing the behavior of defaultValue, I suggest adding isDefaultValueNull which is a simple boolean that indicates whether the value of defaultValue is null or not.

Research direction
Search the generator code and templates for the existing defaultValue property and the model that exposes template variables. Trace how null defaults are represented, then add the boolean alongside the existing property and update the relevant generator tests to verify both null and non-null cases.
