Description

Hi OpenAPI Generator team,

OpenAPI Generator depends on JavaParser (com.github.javaparser),
which is embedded in your Java generation pipeline.

JavaParser has 6,000+ GitHub stars, 11,000+ Maven dependents, and
is downloaded millions of times per month. It has been maintained
for over 10 years.

It currently has 0 paid maintainers and $0 annual budget.

Every new Java release (Java 24, 25, 26...) requires significant
unpaid volunteer work to keep the parser current. There is no SLA,
no guaranteed response time on critical bugs, and no funding to
accelerate fixes that affect your users downstream.

We are reaching out to projects that directly depend on JavaParser
to explore sponsorship or support arrangements — not as a demand,
but as a conversation about shared sustainability.

Would anyone on your team be open to discussing this?

Research direction

No files, tests, or entry points are identified. Start by clarifying whether the project wants to pursue a sponsorship or support arrangement with JavaParser; completion would require an agreed sustainability decision rather than a code change.
