Description

openapi-generator version

Affects all versions (tested 6.6 to latest 7.4).

Description

Using:

<generatorName>java</generatorName>
<library>apache-httpclient</library> or <library>resttemplate</library>

The generated ApiClient.class imports an unused Type import com.fasterxml.jackson.jaxrs.json.JacksonJsonProvider; which is not used but requires an additional Dependency to even compile.

Research direction

Start by locating the Java generator entry point or template that produces ApiClient.class for the apache-httpclient and resttemplate libraries, then search for the exact JacksonJsonProvider import. Done means generated clients no longer require that unused dependency to compile; verify generation and compilation for both listed library options.
