Description

**Objective:** Implement modern monitoring and observability practices across OWASP Nest infrastructure on AWS to ensure reliability, performance visibility, and proactive issue detection.

**Focus Areas:**

* Deploy centralized logging and metrics collection using scalable AWS-native and open-source observability solutions.
* Enable real-time alerts and dashboards for key services, including backend, frontend, and AI components.
* Implement distributed tracing to track user interactions and service dependencies.
* Ensure observability data is structured and accessible for analysis, reporting, and automated response workflows.
* Establish best practices for instrumentation, monitoring coverage, and ongoing maintenance to support both production and staging environments.

**Expected Outcomes:**

* Complete visibility into service health, performance, and anomalies.
* Reduced mean time to detection and resolution of issues.
* A foundation for data-driven operational decisions and continuous improvement of the Nest platform.

Research direction

The issue names no files, tests, or entry points; first map the AWS infrastructure and backend, frontend, and AI services that need coverage. Define the logging, metrics, alerting, dashboards, tracing, and staging/production requirements before implementation, with complete service visibility and actionable detection workflows as the done criteria.
