Issue State & Deadline Reminders

Hey! I was going through the open issues and came across #2241.
Since that issue is locked, I wanted to check if it’s appropriate to open this one to work on the following improvements:

1. Add a filter to sort issues [ I read that someone has implemented a filer for the below page { /contribute } where there one can sort based on fork, stars etc. I can add the issue state and sort by deadline there incase that one is merged. #2401]

2. Display issue status — e.g., overdue, due soon, completed
(I can adjust or refine this based on your feedback.)

The screenshots above show where these changes would be reflected.

A quick question — how is the assignee expected to receive reminders?
Should it involve an external email or notification service, or am I misunderstanding the intent of #2241?
