Description

Context
The current timeline logic is concentrated in one file and mixes constants, rendering, interaction behavior, and Shiny synchronization.

Recommendation
Split the timeline implementation into focused modules (constants, scales/axes, behaviors, DOM draw/update, Shiny sync).

Acceptance criteria

  • Clear module boundaries and naming
  • No behavior change in UI
  • Existing interactions still work (zoom, drag, resize, Shiny updates)

Research direction

Start by reading cdm_timeline.js to map the current constants, rendering, interactions, and Shiny synchronization responsibilities. Define focused module boundaries while preserving the existing UI behavior, then verify that zoom, drag, resize, and Shiny updates still work.
