Description

Description

Ok so we've already moved a lot of things into the sidebar, kind of as an experiment, but I think we can improve it even more. This ticket is going to be pretty open ended and require a lot of back and forth with me, so if that sounds like hell, please don't pick this one up.

Acceptance Criteria

I basically wanna copy a lot of what youtube does and try to repurpose it for our site. Specific examples:
Only show a couple of the most relevant tabs when collapsed and show a more detailed list when expanded (perhaps separated into sections)
Maybe also the type of sidebar they do where they grey the rest of the screen would be cool
Also how they move the collapse button to the left and show their logo to the right of it could be lit for when we have a FinishLine logo
Also also how the sidebar is the same color as the background

Proposed Solution

Gonna be a lot of iterative design

Mocks

None!

Research direction

No files, tests, entry points, or mocks are named. Start by locating the existing sidebar implementation and reviewing the current navigation behavior, then compare it with the described YouTube patterns. Done requires an agreed iterative design and an implemented sidebar covering the selected collapsed, expanded, overlay, branding, and color behaviors.
