Description

We've had reports the modifier for skin tones isn't working. Instead of changing skin tone it shows the main emoji in yellow and then a block of skin tone next to it.

Research direction

Reproduce the reported skin-tone modifier behavior using the screenshot and compare the rendered emoji with the expected modified emoji. Trace the plugin's emoji rendering and modifier handling; done means the base emoji changes skin tone instead of showing a yellow emoji followed by a separate skin-tone block.
