Description
Hi!
I’m a native Spanish speaker and I would like to contribute a Spanish (es) version of nix.dev documentation.
Before starting implementation, I’m opening this issue to discuss the proposal first, since this may be a significant change.
Motivation
There is a growing Spanish-speaking Nix community, and Spanish documentation could make learning and onboarding easier.
Proposed approach
- Start with a small, high-impact subset (e.g. introduction/getting started pages).
- Keep English as the source of truth.
- Submit small, incremental PRs to make review and maintenance easier.
Questions
- Are community-maintained translations accepted in this repository?
- Do you prefer a specific i18n structure/workflow for translated docs?
- Which sections should be prioritized first?
If this sounds good, I can prepare an initial PR with the structure and first translated pages.
Thanks!

Research direction
Start by reviewing the existing nix.dev documentation and determine whether the repository already has a translation or i18n structure; no specific files or tests are named in the issue. The proposal is not ready to implement until maintainers confirm the workflow, priority pages, and acceptance criteria for an initial Spanish translation.
