I'm newcomer to nix and I don't understand why nix channel is changed after imports.
Is it okay to post misunderstandings here?

Research direction
Review /tutorials/first-steps/reproducible-scripts.html and the embedded nix-shell example. Reproduce the import behavior, then clarify in the tutorial why the nixpkgs source or channel appears to change and whether this example is expected. Done means a newcomer can follow the example and understand the resulting channel behavior.
