Research direction
Start with the TimeModelMouseDiscreteEvent test in extensions/time/tests.txt and the referenced extensions/time/examples/MouseDiscreteEvent.nlogo example. Re-run the test to investigate the intermittent failure and inspect the setup/start sequence. Done means the test no longer fails transiently or the failure is consistently reproduced and understood.
