Description

For GUI design purposes it would be really nice to have an ls:is-visible? child-model-id or something similar, in order to toggle between hidden and shown. Thoughts? Objections?

Research direction

The issue does not name a file, test, or entry point. Start by locating the existing child-model visibility controls and clarifying the proposed ls:is-visible? API, including how it should support toggling hidden and shown states. Done requires an agreed design and implementation scope before coding begins.
