Page title

Changes to ONTAP limits and defaults

Summary

Under the section "SVM-DR with FlexGroup volumes", the last bullet says:
"SVM-DR volume limits are 500 per node, 1000 per cluster (including FlexVol volumes and FlexGroup constituents)."

However, I think this "per cluster" value of 1000 is not accurate. The Hardware Universe sets the per HA pair limit as 1000. It doesn't mention 1000 for the entire cluster (or any limits for the entire cluster).

Do we know where these limits originate? Can we confirm that 1000 is per HA pair and not "per cluster"?

Research direction

Start with the “Changes to ONTAP limits and defaults” page at the provided URL, focusing on the “SVM-DR with FlexGroup volumes” section and its final bullet. Compare the stated limits with the Hardware Universe, then confirm whether 1000 applies per HA pair or per cluster. Done means the limit’s scope and originating reference are verified and the documentation wording is corrected if needed.
