ONTAP S3 interoperability

Summary

I didn't quite understand what the following description of FabricPool was trying to convey.

FabricPool cloud tier (native S3 only)

What does "Native S3" refer to?

Could you please clarify whether or not ONTAP S3 volumes can be tiered in each of the following scenarios?

  • When using ONTAP S3 as a tiering target for FabricPool
  • When using ONTAP S3 for I/O with an S3 browser, etc.
  • When using ONTAP S3 with CIFS/NFS in a multi-protocol manner

Also, when using FlexCache, please tell me whether data can be tiered to the capacity tier in the origin ONTAP S3, and whether data can be tiered to the capacity tier in the cache ONTAP S3.
