Description

I would like to have the option to not center the map on a marker that is tapped. I am using a map without scrolling/zooming function where the user can add/remove markers to the map. Each tap of a marker (to remove it) also centers the map on the tapped marker's location.

For now, I can change index.ios.js and GoogleMaps.java files to return "true" for [mapViewDidTapMarker] (iOS) and [setOnMarkerClickListener] (Android). However, any re-installation or updating of the package jeopardizes my custom logic!

Let me know if this (exists or) is possible!

Thank you.

Research direction

Start by reading the marker-tap handling in index.ios.js and GoogleMaps.java, especially mapViewDidTapMarker and setOnMarkerClickListener. Determine how an option could control whether tapping a marker recenters the map on both platforms. Done means the behavior can be configured without editing package files and existing marker interactions remain supported.
