Description
It will make it easier for users to search the code base for baseclasses if the files have easily searchable file name. Right now we have _baseclasses.py, _baseclass.py and _base.py. Seems like a relatively easy fix to pick one and use that across the code base.

Research direction
Search the codebase for _baseclasses.py, _baseclass.py, and _base.py and inspect their imports and references. Choose one consistent base-class filename, update references across the project, and verify that the code still imports and runs successfully.
