Description
Having an unset optional input for a module results in a segfault when PluginPlay tries to cache the results after running the module.

Research direction
Start at the PluginPlay module execution and result-caching path described in the issue, then reproduce the segfault with an unset optional input. Trace how that input is handled after the module runs; done means caching no longer segfaults for this case and the behavior is covered by a regression test.
