Description

Describe the bug

Using runtime builds after commit: Ray tMax NaN Fix and having a rayportal pair in the scene results in:

https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/2e61c520-721b-4b4a-887d-c909715cb37b

Unchecking either Temporal Reuse or Spatial Reuse "fixes" it. Setting ReSTIR GI Spatial Bias Correction to anything but Pairwise Raytrace does as well.

How do you reproduce the bug?
  • Grab the Portal 2 Compatibility mod from: https://github.com/xoxor4d/p2-rtx
  • Use any runtime build that includes the mentioned commit
  • Use the in-game console: map sp_a4_tb_intro and place a portal pair in the first room like shown in the video

Research direction

Start by comparing runtime builds before and after commit 32e26ff4ddfe2ad81e6524f8bf07ae34ba058683. Reproduce with the Portal 2 Compatibility mod, map sp_a4_tb_intro, and a rayportal pair in the first room while Temporal Reuse, Spatial Reuse, and Pairwise Raytrace are enabled. Done means the light artifacting is no longer visible under those settings.
