Describe the bug

After restarting from driver install in Wayland mouse jitters like its 10,000 ms latency, its jumpy and you cant perform precise mouse movements. This does not happen in Xorg, or in Wayland with only iGPU driver installed.

I would like to note that its only the mouse movement which is affected. Accessing GUI via keyboard is as smooth as silk.

The hardware setup looks like this: monitor is attach to AMD iGPU and dGPU is used on-demand (no monitor attached)

Ways to alleviate this involves:

• switching to VRR and VSync repeatedly
• keeping iGPU busy by running glxgears @ monitor fps

1. Switch to Wayland
2. Install the driver
3. Restart
4. Viola! Mouse Freezing

Start by reproducing the pointer jitter on Ubuntu 24.04 with Linux 6.8.0-53, the RTX 4070 Super, Wayland, and the AMD iGPU/dGPU setup, then compare with Xorg and the iGPU-only case. Done means identifying a reproducible driver cause and documenting a verified fix; the report currently provides no nvidia-bug-report.log.gz.
